Birth of the first Adidas shoe

Who would not know Adidas? I am sure each one of you had at least once in life Adidas sneakers.

The whole world knows.  Some of you may know, that it is a European brand. But, who knows when was this brand founded? It was founded in 1924, as precisely Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik. As the name already suggests, the brand was founded by two brothers, Germans, Adolf (Adi) and Rudolf Dassler from Herzogenaurach. Combining first and last name of the founder, but only a little later Adi-Das name was created.

Rudolf joined Adi, a bit later. Adi fact produced his first sneakers in 1920, hired two shoemakers and hand-made training shoes in the laundry of their mother, without any machines or electricity. In 1924 Adi he asked his brother Rudolf, who worked at the factory to become the new CFO, while Adi was devoted to design. When we talk about CFO, the firm Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik had this year only 12 employees and produced about 50 pairs of shoes per day. A year later, Adi designed first Track and Field sneaker with forged tips, as well as his first Football shoes. Brothers Dassler continuosly worked on developing their business. Adidas produced in 1931 the first tennis shoes. In 1937 they produced already 30 different kinds of shoes for 11 kinds of sports, and 4-roller skates. In 1939 produced 1,000 pairs of shoes per day.
