Who is Roberto Cavalli?
Eccentric, bohemian, genius. These names belong to Roberto Cavalli, founder of a famous fashion brand and father of sandblasted jeans. Do you know, what is this Italian with artistic roots famous for? During his studies at the Academy of Art in Florence he decided not to be an artist like his grandfather, who is by the way a well-known Impressionist painter. Instead of it, he started to make experiments with materials and prints. Thirteen years later, Roberto introduced his revolutionary innovation - leather printing. For this he earned credits from the big names like Hermés or Pierre Cardin. He got it patented and continued avidly in his work. He was there, when patchwork, sandblasted and stretch jeans were born. To prove his love for this material, he founded a special Cavalli Jeans line in 2000, which was later renamed on Just Cavalli. However, it was still not enough for the famous designer. He vamped up Playboy Bunny costumes, created Cavalli vodka bottle with snake and perked up diet Coke bottle in its limited edition. Despite the fact that today he´s seventy-four already, Cavalli claimed he´s not planning to retire soon. Is he going to surprise us again, or not?
